Welcome to Glorious Truth. This site is all about the search for truth, the truth about God, the truth about the universe and the world that we live in; the truth about ourselves, about life as we know it. It is my firm belief that finding and embracing the truth about the way life really is, makes all the difference when it comes to happiness, fulfillment and long life. Let’s share with one another about our search for truth.

Come on in and kick off your shoes. Put on a pair of slippers, serve yourself a warm drink, relax with me and and let’s muse together about glorious truth and how embracing it, can change our lives.

A Shrinking Brain

Saturday, September 18th, 2010

While sitting in the doctor’s office the other day I picked up the September 2010 issue of Discover Magazine. The article that caught my attention was titled The Incredible Shrinking Brain, it addressed an issue that paleontologists have been looking at recently, and that is, since the “stone age” the human brain (along with the body) has been getting smaller and smaller. Since then we have lost gray matter roughly the size of a “tennis ball”. Among the theories put forth by scientists for this shrinkage of the brain was the “the idiocracy theory.” I like that one. It means we’re just getting dumber.

This article interested me because as a believer in the Bible I have come to believe (contrary to the evolutionary theory) that the human race is much smaller in size than it was when God created it. Because of the entrance of sin, a degenerating effect has taken place, not only on the human race but all of nature.

After reading the article I came home and dug another article out of my files that I had been holding on to for quite a while. It was a March 21 1949 Life Magazine article entitled “A New Giant Appears on Man’s Family Tree”. The article is about a South African paleontologist, Robert Broom, who found the remains of a giant human jaw embedded in the wall of a cave.

Now I know you may have seen those pictures floating around on the web showing those giant human skeletons. Some of those are obviously hoaxes, but don’t let the hoaxes scare you away from the truth that humans were at one point larger than we are today.

Add to this scientific evidence a text from the Scriptures taken from Genesis 6:4, describing humans before Noah’s flood, which says, “There were giants on the earth in those days…” Add another text found in Numbers 13:33, where it speaks of a time when even after the flood during the time of Moses, when the spies were searching out Canaan, they said, “There we saw the giants (the descendants of Anak came from the giants); and we were like grasshoppers in our own sight, and so we were in their sight.” Then again in Deuteronomy 3:11 it speaks even of a specific king named Og of Bashan (the land of the giants) who was one of the few who remained of the “remnant of the giants”, even noting how large his bed was.

Yes mankind is shrinking. Scientists recognize it. The Bible gives evidence of it. I have often told people that I believe in evolution and if the world continues on a few more thousand years we will all be apes, because the truth is since sin mankind has been shrinking.

Supporting Nature

Friday, August 15th, 2008

As I observe here at Hufeland Clinic, one of the interesting principals of the treatment is that of “supporting nature”.  Whenever a person breaks a bone, gets a wound, or gets a cold or flu, the main role of a doctor is to support the body’s self healing powers.  You might use a cast or stitches or prescribe rest with fluids but the truth is the body heals itself.

For some reason when it comes to cancer conventional medicine has a different approach.  Instead of enhancing or supporting the body’s natural ability to heal itself we often attack the cancer and do so with methods that actually work against the body’s ability to heal itself.

Every person every day has cells that become cancerous.  Every day those cells are dealt with by our own body’s self healing powers.  So the first question that should be asked is “What is this mechanism within our bodies that naturally takes care of cancerous cells?”

The regulatory mechanism contains five things, the cells, the blood and lymph vessels, the nerves of the autonomic system, hormone producing glands, and the liquid surrounding the cells with all of its substances.  The second question to ask then is what is disturbing this regulatory mechanism and causing the breakdown of the natural healing processes.

Therefore here at Hufeland the first or primary focus is not on the cancer but on the underlying organic characteristics of the body system or the inner atmosphere, as I call it, which is allowing the cancer to survive.  While there may be a judicious use of more conventional methods when necessary, the process of working in harmony with the natural healing systems of the body is the primary focus.  The truth is we can help but only the body can heal itself.

The Third Leading Cause of Death

Tuesday, March 4th, 2008

One of the things that has come to my attention in recent years is the fact that if you want to be healthy and live a long life you need to take responsibility for your own health. We blindly rely way too much on modern medicine to take care of us. They can’t do it and they aren’t doing it and they aren’t going to do it, and that is the truth.

Oh yes there are some things the medical community can do that we can’t do for ourselves but if you want to avoid the main killers of our culture like cancer and heart disease you have to think prevention and that is our responsibility. It is true there are some good doctors and nurses out there but their knowledge base is always limited just by virtue of the system that they have been trained in.

Do you realize that the third leading cause of death in America is medical errors!  We hear about it all the time. Most of us have heard stories of someone who has met that fate. You have to keep your eyes open and know what you want or you could become one of those statistics, those who die from the third leading cause of death - medical mistakes. The truth is if you want to live a long life you must take your health care into your own hands.

Be Set Free

Friday, September 14th, 2007

Almost all of us can think of a time when we have been bound up by something. We are in bondage to emotional challenges and feelings. We are held captive by social predicaments. We are struggling to get out of oppressive addictions, traditions, relations, and any number of situations.

Think about it right now. What is it in your life that you would like to be set free from? Is it a health challenge? Is it a relational challenge? Is it a financial challenge? Is it a moral challenge or even a spiritual challenge? Is it an attitude?

Jesus said something most profound that it would be well if we took note because it applies to every aspect of our lives. He said; “And you shall know the truth and the truth shall set you free.” I don’t think we have really considered the real importance of that statement to every aspect of our lives.

Let’s take for instance a very practical example in our life and one that is increasingly on our minds especially as we get older, our health. Think of the lies that we believe about health and the bondage that comes to us because we believe them. For instance we may believe that common disease is inevitable and it is our doctor with the use of prescription drugs or surgery which gives us the best hope of survival. I don’t know how else to say it but “It’s a lie”. Because we embrace that lie we continue to experience disease in our society at increasing rates not to mention the side effects of the treatments we are given.

The truth is that our health is in our own hands. We are responsible for our own health. The traditional diseases that plague our society do not have to plague us. The truth is that a very large percentage of heart disease and cancer for instance could be prevented if we would just live within the physical laws that make up our being. If we would but embrace these truths we could be set free from the diseases that plague our culture. But alas we prefer lies not the truth. The truth could set us free from that which plagues us but no we prefer bondage, disease and death.

There is not one aspect of our existence that isn’t governed by principles of truth. If you can show me one then I’ll show you a piece of green cheese I scooped up off the moon. We believe lies about what it takes to be happy. We believe lies about what it takes to raise children. We believe lies about what it takes to make a marriage work. We even believe lies about the spiritual realm.

Let’s take some time today and identify the areas in our lives in which we are in bondage. Let’s identify the lies that we believe which put us into bondage. Then let’s make an all out search for the truth that can set us free from that with which we struggle.

Truth Sets Free

Sunday, June 10th, 2007

FreedomJesus said, “The Spirit of the Lord is upon me . . . . to proclaim liberty to the captives.” How does He liberate the captives? He says, “You shall know the truth and the truth shall set you free”. Someone asked me once “How does truth set us free?” That is a really good question and maybe one of the most important if we want true freedom.

Another word for truth or better yet maybe another state of truth is wisdom. I coined a little saying the other day - if a Fact is a Truth Frozen then Wisdom is a Truth Warmed. Proverbs 9 in the Bible is a chapter on wisdom. One verse says, “For by me (wisdom) your days will be multiplied, and years of life will be added to you.” The answer to our question is really simple. If you want to be set free from (in this case) a short life, get wisdom, get truth warmed up.

The universe and life has built within it certain truths about how it works optimally. Life operates by ceretain truths. If we embrace those truths in a way that they become warmed up as a part of our very nature, our lives will be benefited because we will be in harmony with how life was made to be lived. Whenever we live out of harmony with the truths of our being there is dissonance created and our life will be shortened. Embracing the truth can set you free from the consequences that come from living in conflict with the principles of truth which govern our nature. Seek truth.
